Apparently having a cause is a license to troll to some people. They think that because you hold an opinion other than theirs that you must be vilified with personal attacks and assumptions that are convenient to them.
And why do they do this ? Because they have nothing to substantiate their opinions. They think this is a game in which they are victorious for having disrupted it. Otherwise they wouldn’t post insults or assumptions or baits. They’d be speaking of the topic at hand…
They want the conversation to be reduced to a flame war. They want people to just leave or not enter into this conversation because of it. They want to post inflammatory rhetoric only to be blocked to play the poor victim. And in this case they absolutely need for it to be emotional, to impose their whitecoat pictures and unrealistic scenarios about seal pups being killed in front of their parents.
They insist these situations are fact when there is no credible evidence other than annecdotals and highly edited footage in which dramatic music is played while the voice over orders you want to see. And you of course can’t question any of it unless you “support evil” or have vested interest in the hunt according to these people.
When have we become so simplistic ?
When have we become so desperate as to deny people the ability to discuss every facet ?
They think they own the subject. They’ve crowned themselves the defenders of the baby seal and think the rest of us can’t talk about it because, after all, those who want to discuss such matters are either with them, ignorant or have vested interest in the hunt.
This allows them of course to post blatantly incorrect figures and to censor everything as “supporting cruelty”, even the correct figures. After all, everything is just an opinion when it could be interpreted as supporting the hunt. And who are we to question or correct them ?
If it wasn’t for their sanctimonious attitute and resentment towards people who have informed opinions then they would be able to actually discuss this issue.

It has become quite obvious that people have become quite narcissistic in their activism.
People that are too busy trying to impress others with their activism are not selfless. And quite frankly this is made more apparent by their lack of research and aggressiveness.
Nobody gets a gold star for quick converts yet these people want to dictate their schedules on other people. They want people to accept their point of view as quickly as possible when this is not relevant.
This pointless urgency imposed by some activists completely disregards the fact that people learn things at their own pace. And that people have different points of view. Yet some activists still act like they shouldn’t be inconvenienced by questions that they don’t know how to answer.
Research is the cornerstone to debates yet some act like they wont be bothered, failing to deviate from prefabricated responses and diversionary tactics. These people are not investing time into constructing adequate responses so they obviously decided to support these causes on a whim.
After all, why would someone that truly believes in a cause cut corners like this ? This half assed activism is a great diservice to the cause.

That appears to be the opinion of some people.
You block them because of their vile attitude and they then harass you in the name of an “opinion” based on bigotry. And they think they’ve got a God given right to subject you to this bull shit !
No thank you ! Move on !
For crying out loud, there’s nothing to be gained. No cause justifies this kind of behavior yet these anti-sealing people are still doing this on Youtube.
It’s as if they think the person with the last word or the biggest insult wins ! Why can’t they see how pathetic they’re being ?
And speaking of pathetic, have you noticed those dumb gimps running around begging for moderating privileges to simply ban people on Stickam and BlogTV ?
Who in their right minds is entertained by this ?! When has it become funny to be an anonymous coward ?
Well, I don’t beg to get back into rooms. I scold the owner for their whimsical choice for moderators and drop them from my friends list. I’m not about to waste my time trying to get back in to get banned by another gimp…

It is quite obvious that the attitude behind negative ads have taken their toll on the ability to debate in America. And the anonymity of the net has reduced conversations and debates to Yo Momma like contests where irresponsible personal accusations are used as debate points.
In real life conversations and debating situations one does not just blurt out arrogant presumptions yet people do this on-line due to the luxury of anonymity and distance. After all, these personal attacks only result in the disruption of there conversations and debates by soliciting irresponsible personal attacks.
It is quite obvious that people have been fooled into believing these personal attacks are actually a response when actually they are sign of defensiveness and cowardliness.
One that feels defensive will try to solicit an equally defensive response with such an attack, to level the playing field in his or her mind. Even when it isn’t required.
These is no individual victor when the whole point of a conversation is the exchange and clarification of ideas so control is not required. And Youtube was meant to be for that purpose.
Youtube was not created for one sided discussions in which people just post videos whose subject cannot be discussed. But on the other hand Youtubers are posting less because they have grown tired of having to consistently respond to personal attacks whenever they want to talk about a subject.
It’s quite simple really. If you would not say it to the person’s face, you should not say it online, unless you do not want a debate or unburdened exchange of ideas. And we should not confuse diplomacy with political correctness.

So Ontario is looking into investing in more nuclear plants and we’ve been bombarded with advertisements for years now here in Ontario, Canada on how clean and cost effective nuclear power is. And how it supplies 50% of my province’s power.
Now, you’re probably expecting me to go into some anti-nuke rant from the title but that’s not why I’m here. I’d like Ontario residents to get their hydro bill and non Ontario residents to watch the sparks fly.
Here in Ontario most residents have sat down and reviewed their hydro bills to see if everything was on the up and up ; To see if they could do something to reduce that bill.
They’ve tried marketers to reduce that delivery charge and tried compact fluorescent light bulbs and other energy saving measures to reduce the consumption. But every bill in Ontario has a charge that is oddly obscure – Something called the Debt Retirement Charge.
On this month’s bill it adds up to around $11, on $181, so I guess most people just disregarded it as yet another charge. But what is it ?
Well, Ontario residents will be quite happy to hear that when their current nuclear power plants were built that they underestimated the costs by billions and that we’ve been paying for them since with this “debt retirement charge”.
The Darlington nuclear power plant construction project, for example, was over 12.5 billion dollars over budget and went active several years late.
At the time the Ontario government had committed to the construction of these plants and we needed power so they couldn’t just pull the plug on these projects. And now we’re left paying this “debt retirement charge” until 2020 ; A debt totaling 38 Billion.
Oh, it gets better…
Have you ever wondered why nuclear power advertisements are being played on television ?
It’s to butter us up for more plants !
And they’re underestimating the costs again according to CBC’s The Fifth Estate, who obtained estimates from investment analysts Standard & Poor and Moody’s.
These firms claim that a Darlington sized plant would cost 4 to 10 billion dollars more that the 6 billion dollar estimate provided by Ontario Hydro. And none of the Ontario’s nuclear plants have ever been built on budget or on time.
So there may be no end to the debt retirement charge !

You know, there’s one word out there that certain Americans use in political discussions that makes me tune out whenever they use it :
Liberal
Apparently some Americans are so oblivious that they don’t know that it has other meanings outside the American media.
Whenever certain Americans use this word to dismiss people it makes me want to speak more slowly to them. That’s how impressed I am by the word’s derogatory use.
Sometimes it makes me want to blurt out random words that hold no meaning but sound somewhat obscene, like “duck squeezing envelope licker”, in the hopes they’d realize how stupid they appear to non Americans.
There is a difference inbetween having an opinion and being opinionated and emulating those ill mannered, overbearing American news media personalities results in a significant reduction of credibility outside of America’s borders. This behavior is deemed compensatory by non Americans, which isn’t something people should be proud of.
